HC Series: Rotary Electromagnetic Workholding

The HC Series serves as a workholding system for turning and cylindrical operations. It is designed to secure parts while reducing the distortion sometimes associated with mechanical clamping.

• Concentric Pole Pattern: The ring pole design provides magnetic surface contact for cylindrical and ring-shaped parts, maintaining stability during rotation.

• Production Efficiency: These magnetic chucks allow for faster part changeovers compared to manual clamping, making them suitable for high-volume production runs.

• Integrated Power: All units include collector rings and brush holder assemblies. On tables 30” and larger, these components are centrally located for easier maintenance access.

The HC Series is available in three primary configurations and can be scaled to meet specific requirements.

Standard Configurations

Type	Description
Type I	Includes a 7 ½” bronze center cover for access to the internal collector assembly. Designed for general rotary work.
Type II	Features a removable center cover that carries magnetic flux from the inner coil, extending holding power down to a 2 ¼” diameter. This model has a taller profile than Type I.
Type III	Designed for rotary table surface grinders. Power is supplied via a slip-ring on the machine spindle, allowing the magnet to hold parts down to a 3” center diameter without a center cover.
